Weidemann is setting new standards in efficiency and comfort with its new wheel loader portfolio. Greater performance, added comfort and intelligent assistance systems provide an added plus for professional users.

With the powerful and high-performance wheel loaders and telescopic wheel loaders in the 4 and 5 ton class, Weidemann has been operating successfully in the market for several years in the fields of agriculture and equine industry, municipalities and trade/industry. These machines have been re-designed, meaning that Weidemann will introduce four new models in the market. Thanks to their performance and machine dimensions, the new models 2090, 2090T, 3090 and 3090T are well-suited for the different operating modes and sizes of operations. 

“With the new 90s models from Weidemann, we are providing an ideal range of machine sizes and performance for challenging applications. Our goal was to develop powerful and technically well-designed work machines for professional users. Practical features and high-quality standard components position the 90s series in the market for professional application and to serve demanding customer segments,” says Andrew Voigt, Commercial Director, describing the new development of and emphasis on the new generation of machines.

The 90s series models are optionally available with a load arm or a telescopic arm. The machines offer customers several new features and options for customised standard components or standard equipment, and to meet their day-to-day work-related requirements. Over and above that, the products have been developed based on a modular design principle, which offers numerous advantages in terms of operability as well as serviceability.

The top-highlights of the 90s series are:

Dynamic Loading Assistance (dla) 

The new assistance package, Loading System, enables highly efficient and precise machine operation for professional materials handling. The dla package consists of the following five functions:

  • Automatic bucket return: The loading system is automatically returned to a position previously defined by the operator » Acceleration of the loading process, ensuring fatigue-free working for the operator, and minimising material wear.
  • Tilt-in-Assist: Automatic retraction of the bucket when the loading system is raised » This ensures optimum utilisation of the bucket volume and fatigue-free working for the operator.
  • Vibrating function: Triggering an automatic vibrating motion at the push of a touch button » Efficient emptying of the bucket when handling bulk materials that do not flow easily.
  • Lift height limiter: The loading system is limited to an adjusted height » Controlled work movements, thereby minimising the risk of damage at your works.
  • Tele-retract (in models 2090T and 3090T): Automatic retraction of the telescopic arm at the push of a touch button, while other machine functions can be operated simultaneously » Faster loading cycles, smooth work processes and fatigue-free working for the operator to a great extent.

To summarise, the dla assistance package ensures that the bucket volume is optimally utilised, the loading cycles are accelerated and repetitive movements are reliably supported. Stresses on the machine caused by wear are also reduced, thereby reducing potential repair costs. At the same time, the five functions of the dla ensure easy handling and a high level of comfort, which greatly helps the operator to concentrate on their work over longer periods of time.

Object detection 

More safety through monitoring the environment. The rear area of the machine is monitored using ultrasonic sensors. When reversing, the operator is warned of obstacles both visually (via imaging in the display) and acoustically (via signal tone sounds). In addition, a clear view of the area behind the machine can be shown on the display by a rear-view camera. This means reliable support in confusing situations and it enables the operator to work safely without any stress.

Active work lighting 

A high-quality lighting package with powerful LED work lights and Coming Home lighting as standard ensures optimum illumination of the work area. The Performance lighting package offers enhanced functions for greater comfort and safety, including additional LED work lights and a dimming function. The light intensity can be adjusted according to the situation, ensuring that work is glare-free. With active work lighting, the forward illumination is automatically adjusted to match the respective work situation.

Loading system sensitivity (adjustable in 3 levels) 

In the 90s series models, the two sections of the loading system, or in case of telescopic wheel loaders, three sections (namely lifting/lowering, rolling in/out and telescoping in/out), can each be freely adjusted in 3 speed levels, independent of one another. This provides the option of freely combining the precision or speed of the loading system required for the operation.

An overview of the other new innovations in the 90s series:

  • The very spacious premium cabin, with its excellent space for the operator, is a particularly prominent feature of the 90s series. The 4-pillar design of the cabin, combined with the panoramic rear window and the sloping engine hood, provides excellent rear view. Visibility of the immediate work area, both to the front and upwards, has also been optimised (Best View Cabin).
  • Over and above that, the cabin offers a high degree of user-friendliness and comfort. A comfortable, wide access improves accessibility, which makes entry and exit much more comfortable and safer for the operator. The console, which moves in tune with the seat and has an integrated 7-inch display, jog dial and multifunctional joystick, offer enhanced comfort for the operator. The controls are positioned to be within easy reach. The colour-based operating concept developed by Weidemann ensures quick and straightforward handling of the machines. Several new storage options, including a mobile phone holder with a charging option, ensure a corresponding comfort factor. This series will also feature a very comfortable premium seat, which provides excellent support for the operator with automatic weight detection, low-frequency suspension, heated seat, seat ventilation, lumbar support and adjustable side contour.
  • The efficient ventilation and heating system has been designed specifically for the premium cabin. The improved air streams ensure a comfortable working environment. A split door makes it easy to let in fresh air through the slot ventilation. A powerful air conditioning system is also available as an option.
  • Weidemann has specifically ensured that noise levels in the cabin are kept low, which enables focussed work and also protects the health of the operators. The control valve for the work hydraulics was therefore relocated to the front carriage, and optimised hose routing was ensured.
  • For the engine versions of the 90s series, Weidemann relies on a standardised generation of Rehlko engines that conform to emission standard level 5, with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC). The engine output could be adapted to the new models thanks to the electronically controlled ecDrive drive system and the strong torque curve, making it powerful and also fuel-efficient at the same time. Here, the engine output has been optimally matched with the respective model. The models are available with the following engine version: 2090/2090T with 50 kW/68 hp, 3090/3090T with 55.4 kW/75 hp. An 80-litre diesel tank is installed to ensure a long reach. When designing the rear, particular attention was paid to ensuring a good slope angle.
  • The engine in the machines of the 90s series is installed transversely, which offers various advantages: The intake of fresh air is from the right side of the machine and waste heat is discharged to the left side. As a result, the temperature development inside the cabin is only slightly affected by engine heat. Service access is also optimum due to the transverse installation of the engine. All service points are easily accessible, like the oil dipper stick, the oil filter, the fuel filter, the filling of engine oil, hydraulic oil and washer fluid. The radiator can be easily folded open for cleaning.
  • Speeds of up to 40 km/h can be achieved using variable hydrostatic transmission Power Drive without the need to change gear or mode in all models. This provides a comfortable driving style as there are no interruptions in the traction. It is particularly noteworthy that the 40 km/h option is now also available for the first time in the 4-ton models (2090/2090T).
  • Four different operating modes have been realised specially for the ecDrive (Electronic Controlled Drive): Auto mode (100% performance) and ECO mode (reduced motor RPM for economical and low-noise driving) are included as standard. Optionally, you can choose between attachments mode (for operating hydraulic attachments) and M-Drive mode (for optimised execution of Y-loading cycles).
  • A drum brake with a manual parking brake us installed as standard. A multi-disc brake with an electric parking brake is available as an option. It is activated when the brake pedal is pressed when the machine is at standstill, or when the operator leaves the seat. The hold-function prevents the machine from rolling away unintentionally. The electric parking brake is disengaged when the accelerator is engaged. It provides maximum safety and comfort for both the operator and their working environment. The machine can therefore be operated very efficiently and safely using the electric parking brake.
  • The 90s series features a sturdy and durable centre joint. The hydraulic hoses are secured at both ends and routed through the centre of the joint. This results in improved durability during rigorous long-term application. 
  • Weidemann has installed a service flap on the right side of the machine, behind which all the machine’s fuses and the cabin air filter are located together. The battery and the isolating switch are located directly below this. These are also easily accessible from the outside. The lockable toolbox is located on the left side of the machine, right next to the access, so that it is very easy to reach.
  • The lift heights at the hinge pin height of the 90s series wheel loaders range from 3.24 to 3.39 m. The load arms provide an excellent view of the coupling points of the quick-change plate and the attachment. Greater lift height can be achieved with the telescopic wheel loader, namely from 4.30 to 4.98 metres.
  • The 90s series offers many additional comfort features that make everyday work much easier, such as a pressure release of the auxiliary control circuits, which is located in an easily accessible position. The load arm damping ensures optimum handling of the machine on difficult terrain and at high travel speeds. 
  • Specially in 2090T and 3090T: With the Lowering Assistant, the telescopic arm retracts automatically as it is lowered. When extracting heavy loads, this system gives the machine more stability and reduces the strain on the operator. One advantage here: the thumb wheel on the joystick need not be pressed continuously while retracting or lowering the loading system. 

The new Weidemann wheel loader and telescopic wheel loader models of the 90s series are complemented by a modern machine design with dynamic, distinctive lines on the engine hood and the premium cabin. To many operations, the new models offer a wide range of customisable equipment options with focus on high-volume of materials handling on a daily basis and precise stacking work. For professional users, this means a high degree of comfort and safety in their day-to-day work.
