dwDrive (Direct Wheel Drive)
Our powerful and efficient drive concept.
Normally, a farm loader is either driven by a hydrostatic drive with PTO gear, transfer box and axles, or a hydraulic and/or hydrostatic drive via oil motors on the axles.
For the Hoftrac 1260LP, we opted for a different drive concept. With Direct Wheel Drive, 4 wheel hub motors are installed directly on the wheels. This means that each wheel has its own motor drives the respective wheel directly. The wheel hub motors are driven directly by the travel hydraulic pump, eliminating mechanical losses. The wheel hub motors are also protected against pressure peaks by a high-pressure safeguard.
Extraction between the wheel hub motors also prevents the external motors from drying out when cornering.
The Direct Wheel Drive provides the following benefits:
- Increase in efficiency through the purely hydraulic drive
- Excellent acceleration and, as a result, lively driving behavior
- No power loss through axles or transmission
- Higher ground clearance compared with driveshaft and drive via axles
